There are two ways to join: you can join an existing chapter or start your own chapter. First, make sure that we have a chapter established at your school by checking the chapters page. If you see your university, see the instructions on the Join A Chapter page. If you don't see your university on the list, starting a chapter might be more appropriate for you.
In either case (whether you join or start a chapter), the process of joining is two-fold: the first step is to get to know the fraternity and its members. Existing chapters host rush weeks consisting of multiple fun events. Rush is a great opportunity to meet the brothers and get a feel for Beta Chi Theta. For those who would like to start a chapter, our brothers will come to your campus and answer any of your questions. You will get to meet our members and gain a better understanding of Beta Chi Theta is. Recruitment is a two-way process: as you evaluate our members and our organization, our brothers will also be evaluating you as a potential new member. This is why we would like to emphasize that this initial stage is completely non-commitmental. If you don't feel like Beta Chi Theta is the right fraternity for you, we completely understand.
The second step is the New Member Education process. During this process you will learn about the history, pillars and background of the fraternity. You will also have the opportunity to start developing leadership skills by organizing events, running meetings, giving presentations, writing budget requests , planning philanthropy events, and socializing with other organizations. And perhaps most important of all, you will also develop strong bonds with the brothers and truly become a brother yourself. Many brothers have extremely fond memories of this period as it is during the New Member Education process that they first developed a real sense of brotherhood. Once the New Member Education process is complete you will officially be known as a brother of Beta Chi Theta National Fraternity, Inc. We wish you all the best on this journey.
